Dermal fillers used in conjunction with face lift for best results

People looking to get the most out of a face lift may want to consider having dermal fillers as part of their treatment.
That’s according to Dr Anita Mandal, a board-certified Facial Plastic Surgeon based in Florida, who says it is very common for people to combine facial surgery with injectable treatments such as Botox.
But while combining procedures can help patients to achieve a better end result, Dr Mandal does not advise having both the surgical and non-surgical treatments carried out on the same day.
Writing in the health section of The Palm Beach Post newspaper, she said she often injects patients with fillers between three and seven days before the operation is due take place. If this isn’t possible then she recommends three to four weeks after the facelift surgery, to ensure all the associated swelling has gone down.
The increasing popularity of injectables was highlighted last week following the release of global sales figures by Allergan Pharmaceuticals, which said its global sales of Botox had increased 8 per cent year-on-year during the fourth quarter of 2011.
