Good Candidates for Infini RF, The “Non-Surgical Facelift”

Posted: 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018

By Anita Mandal, M.D.
Question: I have sagging in my jowls and neck. I really am not ready for a facelift because it seems so invasive with so many incisions. How can I know that if I have a less invasive procedure, like Infini, that I would be happy with the result? I’m not looking for miracles and don’t need to look 25. I just want to look better and refreshed.

Answer: When considering any non-surgical procedure, realistic expectations are important and a key part of a satisfactory result. Infini RF is a very popular procedure as it’s not uncommon for me to perform 4-7 Infini procedures on a weekly basis.

There are several types of patients who are candidates for Infini. One category is patients who have mild to moderate sagging of the lower face and upper neck and do not really need a facelift. If you are at this stage, you may be able to prevent or delay the need for a facelift if you have Infini treatments performed in the recommended manner.

A second group is patients who have already had a facelift or mini-facelift but need a little tweaking as they have continued to age. These patients may be able to avoid another surgery if they opt to go with Infini RF. Also, a patient who has had a facelift and does not want to wait until after the aging progresses further, can use the Infini to maintain their facelift results.

Finally, there is a large group of patients who have moderate to more than moderate sagging and are either not candidates for facelift surgery or simply do not want surgery. In such cases, if one is looking for some worthwhile improvement but can accept a degree of tightening that would not quite be to the same extent as a facelift, then this category of patient can be quite satisfied with the results of an Infini “non-surgical facelift.” It all comes down to having realistic expectations, as is true with any cosmetic procedure.

Careful consultation with a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon is the first step in determining whether you are a good candidate for the Infini RF. Sometimes additional procedures including PRP, Botox or Bellafill can further enhance the results when used in combination with Infini RF.
