Is Fat The Best Permanent Filler?

Question: Fat graft injections were recommended for my hollow face. I’m told fat grafts are permanent and come from your body’s own tissue? Since fat is natural, why use another commercial filler?
Answer: Fat grafting for facial volume loss is more complex than one might think. A typical good result is when only half of the fat remains and the other 50?percent resorbs within 6 months. For this reason, multiple sessions, months apart, are needed to achieve full correction. Since fat is harvested surgically, from other areas of the body, slim patients may not have adequate amounts of fat available for grafting. Postoperative swelling can persist 6-8 weeks and interfere with your daily routine.
It’s true that fat graft injections are “permanent,” at least what is left once the 50 percent has resorbed. However, repeat treatments, limited fat stores and higher complication risks are disadvantages compared to commercial fillers. Bellafill®, with its high safety profile, long duration, ease of treatment, minimal downtime and collagen growth ability make Bellafill uniquely advantageous.
As a BellaDiamond Elite member, who performs 50-60 syringes on average per month, Bellafill has significant benefits over fat injections. In my experience with Bellafill, I find it to be the safest, most effective long term filler currently on the market.
Careful consultation with a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon to assess your facial volume needs and determine the best filler options for you is the first step.
